How we use your information.

This notice explains what personal information we collect through this website and in our work, why we use it, who we share it with and the choices you have.

Waterfront Ventures LimitedLast updated: 28 October 2026

Who we are

This website is run by Waterfront Ventures Limited, a company registered in England and Wales with company number 12085635. Our registered office is Flat 9 Ocean Wharf, 60 Westferry Road, London, England, E14 8LN. Waterfront Advisory, BankStreet Partners, Convoy and Second Tide are trading names of Waterfront Ventures Limited.

House of Turing is a separate company in the group (company number 17548125), registered in England and Wales at the same address.

Waterfront Ventures Limited is the controller for information collected through waterfrontventures.group, waterfrontventures.consulting and bankstreetpartners.com, and for work with the group, Waterfront Advisory, BankStreet Partners, Convoy and Second Tide. That means it decides how the information is used. House of Turing is the controller for information collected through thehouseofturing.com and for its own client work. Where we pass an enquiry between the two, the company that receives it becomes its controller.

Waterfront Ventures Limited is registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) under registration number ZA748166.

For anything about this notice or your information, email info@waterfrontventures.consulting or write to us at the registered office.

What we collect

We only collect what we need. Depending on how you deal with us, that can include:

  • Contact forms. Your name, work email, organisation, the topics you tick and your message.
  • The Margin Diagnostic. Your answers and the scores worked out from them. If you choose to unlock the full report, also your name, work email, company and role, and whether you ticked the box for briefings.
  • Free calculators. The figures you type into our calculators stay in your browser. If you choose to send your estimate, we receive your name, work email, company and the estimate itself.
  • Briefings. Your email address, and a record that you asked to receive them.
  • Working with us. The names, job titles and contact details of people at clients, suppliers, partners and investors, and what we need to deliver the work, such as meeting notes and correspondence. Sometimes we get business contact details from your employer, from people who introduce us, or from public sources such as company websites and LinkedIn.
  • Using the website. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, such as IP address, browser type, the pages requested and the time, to keep the site secure and working. We do not use analytics or tracking tools on this website.

Why we use it, and our lawful basis

Data protection law says we need a lawful basis for each use. Ours are:

  • To reply to you and follow up on what you asked for. Our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us and in developing business relationships. When you request material from the Margin Diagnostic, we may follow up once about your results on the same basis.
  • To consider you for our associates network, if you approach us about working with us. Our legitimate interest in finding the right people, and steps you ask us to take before entering into a contract with you.
  • To send briefings and marketing. Your consent. You can withdraw it at any time with one click in any email, or by emailing us. Leaving the briefings box unticked does not affect anything else.
  • To deliver work for clients and manage suppliers and partners. Performing our contract, or our legitimate interest where the contract is with your employer.
  • To keep the website and our systems secure, and to meet legal and tax duties. Our legitimate interests, and legal obligation.

Where we rely on legitimate interests, we have balanced them against your interests and rights. You can ask us for details, and you can object at any time.

We do not make decisions about you based solely on automated processing that have a legal or similarly significant effect. The Margin Diagnostic works out scores and ranges automatically, but they are indicative and are only used to show you your results and to shape any conversation you choose to have with us.

Who we share it with

We do not sell personal information. We share it only with:

  • Companies within the Waterfront Ventures group, where another company is better placed to help with your enquiry.
  • Service providers who act on our instructions, including Netlify (website hosting and form submissions) and Microsoft (Microsoft 365, for email and documents).
  • Professional advisers, such as lawyers and accountants, where needed.
  • Authorities, regulators or courts where the law requires it, or to protect our rights.

If the group is reorganised, or all or part of a business is sold, information may pass to the new owner, who must use it in line with this notice.

International transfers

Some of our service providers store or process information outside the UK, for example in the United States. Where that happens we make sure it is protected, by relying on UK adequacy regulations (such as the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework where a provider is certified) or on the ICO's International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum. You can ask us for details.

How long we keep it

  • Enquiries: 24 months from your last contact with us.
  • Margin Diagnostic, calculator and estimator details you send us: 24 months from when you send them.
  • Waitlists for our tools: until we have told you the tool is ready, then 12 months, or sooner if you ask us to remove you.
  • Associate introductions: 24 months from your last contact with us.
  • Briefing subscriptions: until you unsubscribe. We keep a short suppression record afterwards so we do not email you again.
  • Client, supplier and contract records: six years after the work ends, to meet legal, tax and insurance requirements.

After that we delete the information or make it anonymous.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the information we hold about you;
  • ask us to correct it, or to delete it;
  • ask us to restrict how we use it, or object to our use of it, including for direct marketing;
  • ask for information you gave us in a portable format; and
  • withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent.

To use any of these rights, email info@waterfrontventures.consulting. We will reply within one month, and tell you if we need longer for a complex request. There is normally no charge.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first at info@waterfrontventures.consulting. We will acknowledge your complaint within 30 days, look into it properly, keep you updated and tell you the outcome.

You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Keeping it safe

We use access controls, encryption in transit and reputable providers to protect your information, and we only give access to people who need it. No system is completely secure, so please do not send us passwords or financial details by email or through our forms.
